Saadi Ahmed Pira emphasized the existence of a common candidate for the presidency would benefit the Kurds.
Ahmed Pira, a member of the political office of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (Puk), said: "The talks are now at an advanced stage. It is necessary for the Kurds to try not to lag behind the political process. I believe that one should not be too sensitive about the issue of the presidency and give importance to this issue as we are witnessing now because if we participate in the government formation process with a common presidential candidate, it is much better than competing with two candidates for the presidential post.
The report has further predicted that after Eid al-Adha, the KDP and the PUK will negotiate and the position of the president will be one of the main topics of these negotiations.
