In a series of reports, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced the deterioration of the security situation in the areas under the control of Syrian Kurds in the north and northeast of the war-torn country.
According to the reports of this organization monitoring the developments in Syria, in the past few days, the Turkish artillery and drone attacks against the positions of the Syrian Kurds have increased dramatically, resulting in the deaths of militiamen and civilians.
The number of Turkish drone attacks against the Syrian Kurds this year has reached 70, and because of the attacks 11 civilians have been killed, including 7 children. 61 Kurdish combat forces have also been killed in the attacks.
This monitoring body has also reported an increase in drone and rocket attacks on Kurdish-controlled oil fields, especially the Omar oil field. According to the report of this human rights organization and as well as some media, the sound of massive explosions has been heard near the field. At the same time, the largest base of the US-led coalition is located near this oil field in the east of Syria's Deir ez-Zor province.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has also reported the intensification of ISIS attacks on the Syrian Democratic Forces led by the Kurds. In 2022 ISIS attacks on Syrian Kurdish-led forces, 66 civilians and 77 armed members of Kurdish-led forces have lost their lives.
This organization has also reported that the people of these areas do not have any access to safe water due to the attacks of Turkish forces and the rebels and the increase of attacks on the facilities controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces.
