Protesters stormed a Turkish military facility, burning tents and several vehicles. One person died and at least ten were wounded, according to health officials.
"The ministry condemns Turkish forces opening fire on the citizens in the area of Shiladze and the complex of Sabri in the district of Amedi, Dohuk province, which led to the death of a victim and a number of wounded and Turkish flights at low altitudes, which caused panic among citizens," the statement read.
It went on to say that Iraq's sovereignty and the security of its citizens are primarily the responsibility of the central government and emphasized Iraq's firm condemnation of any violation of its security and sovereignty.
One protester was killed and 10 others were wounded when they stormed the Turkish military base in Shiladze. Protesters said Turkish forces at the base opened fire randomly on them.
