“The torching of the crops of the Kurdish people in the areas encompassing the Article 140 areas and killing, torturing and wounding the Kurdish people in those areas have become a phenomenon for a while, which is a big crime and overt persecution against the Kurdish innocent people,” Barzani said in a statement.
According to NRT he also said “what is happening in those areas are violations to the constitution and human values and it is a perilous alarm to the people’s lives and the future in the area.
“The oppression is being committed on daily basis in these areas are torture and eliminating people because of their [Kurdish] ethnic identity.”
“Imposing this situation on the farmers and innocent people are not accepted at all—the international community and the relevant sides should voice against this improper situation, as well as the Iraqi government should take responsibility and end this persecution and law-breaking that is happening in the Kurdish areas outside the Kurdistan Region administration,” the statement added.
