Sheikh Jangi said in a statement on the 44th anniversary of PUK’s foundation that Kirkuk is the city of co-existence and called on the components in Kirkuk to protect safety and security and do not lost that co-existence, as well as he also called on them not to follow the political partys' rhetoric.
“The parties want to create discords among you for the sake of their interests. PUK paid much price for the co-existence between the Kurds, Arabs, Christians and Turkmen.”
“Those who shed crocodile tears for Kirkuk and disputed areas in their palaces and make fiery messages are those who are ready to mix their hands with Hashd al-Shaabi and select a governor from al-Shaabi and want [Kirkuk] deputy governor to be from them, but they are not ready to be united with the Kurds in Kirkuk and appease peoples’ suffering, tortures and pains,” Jangi added.
