The source, who spoke under condition of anonymity, said IS militants had attacked Wardiya village in Abadi sub-district, south of Kirkuk, on Monday night, NRT reported.
The militants killed three civilians in the attack, the source added.
Although Iraq declared victory against IS in July 2017, the extremists have since been trying to mount a guerrilla-style insurgency, going into hiding and staging surprise attacks in different parts of the country.
