KDP, PUK delegations to decide on Kirkuk governor

<p style="text-align:left">High-level delegations from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) are set to meet on Wednesday and discuss the prolonged disputes over the post of Kirkuk governor.

The PUK says it deserves holding the post while the KDP presses for appointing a PUK figure approved by both parties, BasNews reported
According to the report the PUK has suggested two of its senior members, and the KDP is expected to give its final decision on the nominees for the Kirkuk governor office.
PUK previously said that resolving the disputes over the Kirkuk governor post should be before the formation of the new Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
MP Zikri Zebari told BasNews that with the conclusion of discussions around Kirkuk, the KDP and PUK are one more step closer to form the new cabinet of the KRG.
