The United States denied attacking the Syrian base.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said 14 people were killed in the missile attack.
"At this time, the Department of Defence is not conducting air strikes in Syria," the Pentagon said in a statement.
The airstrikes came after an alleged chemical weapons attack which killed dozens in Syria’s besieged town of Douma near Damascus.
