HDP delegation holds talks with political parties in Sulaimani

<p style="text-align: left;">A delegation from Turkey pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) met with Kurdish political officials in the city of Sulaimani to discuss the latest developments in the region and the importance of unity among Kurds.

The delegation headed by HDP Co-chair Pervin Buldan met with the members of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) on Monday, April 9, in Sulaimani.

The two parties discussed the importance of unity among Kurds, as well as Turkish bombardment on the Kurdistan Region, NRT reported.

&ldquo;Our nation has stood against invaders. If any attack was conducted in any part of Kurdistan, it will be an attack on Kurds without any difference,&rdquo; Buldan said in a press conference.

PUK Politburo member Mala Bakhtyar, for his part, said both sides did not make any decision on holding a Kurdish national congress, which HDP has emphasized during its meeting with other political parties.

The HDP delegation also met with Change Movement (Gorran) members. Both sides stressed on the importance of holding national congress.

The delegation is expected to hold talks with other political parties in Sulaimani on Tuesday.

The delegation arrived late on Friday in the Kurdistan Region to meet with officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and other political parties.

The HDP delegation was received by a Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) delegation at the Erbil International Airport. They met with Masoud Barzani, president of the KDP, in Erbil.
