Turkey presidential election is to be held on June 24, 2018.
The experts believe the developments since 2015 and resumption of clashes between the Kurdish militia and Turkish army, Turkey failed coup d’etate, Ankara invasion into Afrin in northern Syria may influence the Kurds that were conventionally voting for the AKP.
Atyla Yasilada from Global Source Partners told VOA that looting, ethnic cleansing and oppression in Syria is only an accusation but it will probably leave its impact on the vote of the Kurds in the upcoming election.”
According to polls the AKP has won the votes of Turkey nationalists but has lost the votes of the Kurd, he added.
A political analyst, Cangiz Aktar, stated that it is true that war against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) was in some Kurdish region in Turkey but the destruction of 5 or 6 cities and towns has negatively influences the viewpoint of the Kurds and they are not happy with it.
