According to NRT, Ali Hussein said his party and the PUK have a “preliminary understanding” to work together in Baghdad.
“There will be more meetings in the coming days,” between the PUK and the KDP to discuss the way they will work in Baghdad, Hussein said speaking to KDP-affiliated media.
He said that his party, which took a lead in the Iraqi parliamentary election, will not sideline the other Kurdish political parties, but blamed them for not having the ambition to meet.
The KDP won the most seats among Kurdish parties, winning 25, while the PUK came in the second.
No agreement has been reached between the four blocs who came in overall first, second, third, and fourth in the Iraqi parliamentary election to form a new government in Baghdad.
