Turkey jets hit villages in Kurdistan Region

<p style="text-align:left">Turkish warplanes bombed the villages of Zargeli and Qirnakaw Pshtashan in Kurdistan Region multiple times on Friday, August 16.

NRT reported that the warplanes initially flew over the area at low altitude and before starting their bombing runs.
The airstrike did not cause any casualties, but caused heavy damage to farmland. They also forced local residents to flee the area.
The Turkish military routinely carries out airstrikes and artillery bombardments in the Kurdistan Region against suspected Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets, but their frequency has increased since Ankara launched &ldquo;Operation Claw&rdquo; in May, as have civilian casualties.
At least six civilians have been killed in the past three months.
