Fazil Mirani made the remarks in a meeting with Iran Consul General to Erbil, Nasrollah Rashnodi, on Tuesday.
Mirani hailed Tehran-Erbil ties as historic and stressed the people of the Kurdish region have always enjoyed their ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran and they will never forget Iran aids.
The Kurdistan Region has always considered itself as a positive factor in stabilizing regional stability and security and would never allow threats against Iran and its security, the KDP official said.
Rashnodi, for his side, appreciated Kurdistan Region officials' cooperations with Iran and called for further economic, political, cultural and security relations between the two sides.
