Kurdistan Region Minister of Peshmerga calls for increased US financial aid

The Peshmerga Minister of the Kurdistan Region called for an increase in US aid to the forces and expansion of the country's financial assistance to the Peshmerga forces.

According to Zaman Press, Shoresh Ismal stated during a meeting with Colonel Forehis, the US Head of Security Coordination in Iraq, and Colonel Juliat, the head of the US Office in the Kurdistan Region, asked Washington to provide financial assistance to the Peshmerga forces, increase the allocated monthly salaries to the forces in order to ensure justice and equality among them.
The latest developments and ISIS threats and other topics were discussed during the meeting, and the Peshmerga Minister stated that he had warned several times about the increasing threat of the ISIS and appreciated the the coalition help and the United States to counter the threat.
The US delegation also stressed that they will review the requests of the Peshmerga Ministry as soon as possible and would announce the result.
Improving the welfare and living conditions of the Peshmerga forces was also discussed during the meeting, and the American delegation noted they understand the problems and sufferings of the Peshmerga forces and stressed that Washington would take serious steps to solve these problems and improve the conditions of the Peshmerga forces.
Earlier, the Peshmerga Ministry announced that US financial aid would only include the forces that are organized under the command of the Peshmerga Ministry and that their three-month arrears would be paid in full this month.
