In an interview with Voice of America (VOA), Rashad said that the ministry has not decided on the design of the stamp and was presented by a person.
“As the ministry, the map of the great Kurdistan [Region] is not created by us,” he said, adding that it is a political issue and the ministry respects “the will and the constitution of Iraq, and the neighboring countries.”
On Wednesday, KRG Spokesperson Jotiar Adil said during a press conference that the examples of the stamps were sent by a number of artists to the ministry on the occasion, adding that they were just recommendations and have not been approved by the KRG.
He said that the KRG “respects the principle of good neighborliness.”
