Joe Biden can't back Syrian Kurds without coordination with American society: institute

The Kato think tank has suggested that US President Joe Biden should consult with the American people and political institutions such as Congress to support the Syrian Kurds, which he sees as a sensitive issue.

The United States has entered into an alliance with the Syrian Kurds since 2014 under former President Barack Obama in what Washngton calls the fight against ISIS. The alliance worked in favor of the Kurds, but the abandonment of the Kurds halfway by former US President Donald Trump hit the Kurds hardest, and much of their territory was occupied by Turkey.

Now, some US media outlets, citing some of Biden's statements in support of the Kurds, believe that the new US president will provide more support to the Kurds, especially in Syria.

Referring to Turkey's operations against the Syrian Kurds, the Kato Institute in the United States described Joe Biden's support for the Syrian Kurds, which it believes could lead to the creation of an autonomous entity, as a sensitive issue and warned Biden against its consequences.

The Kato think tank has advised Biden that in order to deal with such a sensitive issue in the Middle East, Biden needs the support of political institutions such as Congress and even the American people.
