"There was a violent conflict on Sunday, March 8, in the vicinity of Gari Spi among the terrorist elements of Ahrar al-Sharqiya and Jebel al-Shamiyah, both groups supported by Turkey," Ahmed Hami, a field commander for the YPG told Kurdpress today, March 9.
The field commander stressed that yesterday morning some members of the Al-Shamiyah Front attacked a headquarters for the Ahrar al-Sharqiya group, prompting a fierce exchange of fire between the two sides.
Ahmad Hami added: "there is no information about the injuries and deaths in the clashes between the two sides.”
According to Kurdpress, after the Turkish military and armed groups took the control of Gari Spi in October 9, 2019, al-Shamiyya front runs border posts in the region.
