A day after the Monday deadly rocket attack on Erbil, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke by phone with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi on Tuesday, February 16, and urged him to work closely with the Kurdistan Region to address violent extremists in the country.
The Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, the Organization of the Islamic Conference, and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs issued separate statements condemning the Monday Erbil Airport attack.
Reacting to Monday night missile attack on Erbil, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region underscored that maintaining security and stability in the Kurdistan Region is a red line and called for increased coordination with the Iraqi government to deal with these dangers.
