During the meeting between the two sides, they discussed the development of relations between Iraq and the region with Russia.

According to the official website of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Barzani met with the new Russian ambassador to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, and his accompanying delegation Monday, July 5.

According to the report, during the meeting, the two sides discussed the comprehensive development of relations and cooperation between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with Russia.

Noting that the Russian Foreign Ministry attaches special importance to the Kurdish issue in the region, Kutrashev referred to the Kurds living in the country and said that the Kurds in Russia are active in important positions and have a significant role and position in the country.

The upcoming Iraqi elections, the consequences of the Covid-19 outbreak, the vaccination process against the disease, and the situation in Syria are other topics discussed during the meeting, and the two sides stressed that the Syrian problem must be resolved through political and negotiated means.
