Amjad Osman, a spokesman for the Syrian Democratic Council, the political wing of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), said the suspension of talks between the two main Kurdish factions in Syria was due to tensions between the Kurdistan Region and the Kurdish self-ruling administration in northern Syria.
"Any change in relations between the Kurdistan Region [of Iraq] will have a positive or negative impact on the Kurdish talks in Syria," Mr. Osman told Anab Baladi.
The spokesman stressed that success of the talks would provide more opportunities to protect the Syrian Kurds.
Amjad Osman warned that the Syrian Kurds remain under serious threat due to Turkish attacks on the Kurds in Afrin and Sari Kani.
