White House ready to welcome Iraqi PM Kadhimi: statement

The White House Press Secretary in a statement  said US President Joe Biden was looking forward to meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi on July 26.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in the statement that the exact date of the meeting between al-Kadhimi and Biden had been set and the two would meet on July 26, adding that Joe Biden is waiting to welcome Mustafa Al-Kadhimi on the day at the White House.

She said the meeting between Biden and Kadhimi was important to emphasize the strategic partnership between Iraq and the United States and to advance bilateral cooperation based on a strategic agreement between the two countries.

"The meeting will focus on key issues of mutual interest, such as education, health, culture, energy and climate," Psaki said.

The statement added that Joe Biden also planned to develop bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and security fields, including joint war against the ISIS.
