Erdogan can't eliminate PKK: Middle East analyst

<p style="text-align:left">An analyst of the issues in the Middle East believes Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan cannot eliminate the Kurdistan Workers&amp;rsquo; Party (PKK) and the best way to resume negotiations with the group.

Dr. Alon Ben Meyer, a researcher on Middle East issues, wrote in an article about Erdogan's stance on Turkey's internal and external issues that the Turkish president sees Turkey's Kurds as a political threat who are seeking to establish independent entity in the country.

"Erdogan wants to completely eliminate the PKK by killing even the last person in the group, but the PKK has been established dozens of years before Erdogan's presidency and will continue to work dozens of years after the end of his presidency,&rdquo; the analyst wrote in an article released in the A and P magazine.

Dr. Ben Meyer considered resuming the negotiations between the Turkish government and the PKK as the best way to settle the crisis and urged Western countries to make Erdogan to resume the stalled negotiations with the PKK and thereby end 50 years of bloody conflict between Kurds and Ankara and allow the Kurds to experience freedom and equality.
