Masrour Barzani expresses concern over IS moves in Iraq disputed areas

<p style="text-align: left;">In a meeting with the commander of special operations for the US-led international coalition in Iraq and Syria, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani expressed his dismay at IS's increasing movements in the disputed areas between Erbil and Baghdad.

Barzani expressed his concern and displeasure with Gen. Eric Hill, the commander of special operations for the anti-IS International Coalition forces in Iraq and Syria in disputed areas between Erbil and Baghdad, particularly attacking Kurdish farmers and kidnapping them, according to the Xalak news website.

The two sides also discussed the situation in Iraq and the region and the expansion of co-ordination between the Peshmerga and the coalition forces and the continuation of this coordination in confronting IS attacks and threats.

During the meeting, Hill called Kurdistan Region an important American ally and coalition partner in confronting the IS, and said the war on terror has not ended and stressed on the need to continue coordinating with Iraq and the region to confront the threat.
