Bazargan, Fish Khabur border crossings to be reopened: Iranian official

<p style="text-align:left">The chief of Iran-Turkey joint economic cooperation commission stated that the border crossings of Bazargan and Fish Khabur will be reopened and the trade ties between the two sides would increase.

Mahmoud Vaezi expressed his happiness as the outbreak of the coronavirus has not halted Iran-Turkey expanding ties and said Tehran hopes trade ties between the two countries would increase in the wake of the pandemic.

The Iranian official went on to add that along with train crossings between the two states, road crossings between Ankara and Tehran would see a big increase.

Following consultations between Iranian and Turkish officials on trade transactions, Turkish Minister of Trade Mrs. Pekcan announced that Bazargan and Fish Khabur borders would re-open soon and that due to the re-opening of the borders the trade and goods exchanges would increase significantly.

In an interview with a Turkish television network, the Turkish Minister of Trade expressed her appreciation for the Iranian government's cooperation in implementing health protocols that have led to the re-opening of borders and increased trading. She expressed her hope that the relations and trade ties between the two countries will accelerate to the level before the outbreak of coronavirus.
