Speaking to KurdPress, Kofan Kaneo, the leader of the Syrian Kurdistan Democratic Party, said that the Kurdish delegation had visited France and met with Macron.
He continued: "This is an important and influential event for the Kurds in the region and in the world."
"It is not a secret that France is looking for a way to interact with the Kurds, and this was discussed in the meeting with Macron and the ways in which France supports the Kurds," Kaneo stated.
The official added: "Macron's meeting with the delegation of the Syrian Kurdistan can be a step towards direct political relations between the Western countries and the self-ruling administration and a move towards the recognition of this region."
