US-led coalition continuing to arm Syrian Kurdish- Arab forces

The US-led anti-ISIS coalition is supplying weapons, ammunition and other supplies to the Kurdish-led Syrian Kurdish-Arab forces, according to the Pentagon inspector general.

In a report sent to members of the US Congress, the US Secretary of Defense announced that the US continues to provide military support to the Syrian forces in the fight against ISIS.

The Pentagon Inspector General has stressed that the US would provide the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with supplies such as weapons, ammunition, medical equipment and ammunition.

The report, which covers the months of April to July 2021, states that US-led coalition forces continue to provide military training to Syrian Kurdish- Arab forces, including medical training on the battlefield, routine military training, and collective training, gathering information and counter-insurgency training in prisons where ISIS members are held.

In this report, the US Department of Defense announced the improvement of the military capabilities of the Syrian forces and stressed that the US Department of Defense seeks to reduce the dependence of the Syrian Kurdish -Arab forces on the support of the coalition.

The Pentagon continues to consider ISIS as the biggest threat to Syrian Kurdish-controlled areas and has warned that the terrorist group is continuing attempts to destroy oil facilities controlled by Syrian Kurds.
