Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kadhimi and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed to the visit during a phone call, the Presidency of the Iraqi Council of Ministers said a statement on Monday, August 9.
The pair praised their countries’ bilateral relationship and emphasized France’s support for Iraqi democracy and its "balanced” approach to diplomacy.
Saudi Arabia and Turkey have also been invited to the conference.
The visit will highlight France’s high level of engagement with Iraq.
Macron previously visited Baghdad last year, signing a number of political and economic agreements.
