PKK umbrella organization warns to target those who help Turkey’s MIT

<p style="text-align: left;">The Executive Council of Kurdistan Community Union (KCK), an umbrella organization that includes the Kurdistan Workers&amp;rsquo; Party (PKK) threatened that people or groups that provide intelligence on the PKK to Turkey&amp;rsquo;s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) would become targets themselves.

During an interview with Sterk TV on Sunday, June 21, the KCK Co-Chair Jamil Bayik claimed that some supporters and cadres of parties in the Kurdistan Region and others that work in the security forces are cooperating with the MIT to provide information about the PKK, asserting that that it is the only way Turkey is able to target the group&rsquo;s fighters.

The KCK has not taken any action yet, but would do so directly, he stressed, adding darkly that one of the foundations on which PKK is based is to stand against treason and to question traitors.

Turkey renewed its military operations in the Kurdistan Region on Monday, conducting daily airstrikes and launching ground operations. It has justified its actions by saying that they are necessary to protect itself against PKK attacks, NRT reported.

Five civilians have died since Wednesday, along with an unknown number of combatants.

The KCK is a political umbrella group associated with jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan. It is sometimes used to communicate messages from the PKK.
