Suleiman Elias, the head of the Euphrates Strategic Research Center, told KurdPress about the apology of the Syrian Democratic Forces Commander General Mazloum Kobani from the families of those killed in 2013 protests of 2013 in the city of Amouda in Syrian Kurdistan by the People's Protection Units (YPG), that the actions of General Kobani are historical and unity-making which are to make the Kurdish parties united and they should welcome the moves.
Elias continued to say that "what happened in 2013, which led to the killing of several civilians by YPG forces was disturbing and sad, while it happened that there was a great sedition against Syrian Kurdistan by the Syrian opposition movements and as it is the case today and the institutionalization process had not been carried out in the region yet."
“The meeting between General Kobani and the commanders of the YPG with the families of the victims and those who died was a good, admirable measure for comforting the families of the victims and also was an attempt to make the people in Syrian Kurdistan united,” he further said.
He stated: "There are problems facing the Kurds in Syrian Kurdistan and we need to solve these troubles and the recent actions among Kurdish movements are hopeful. Although there are people who, along with Turkey, are acting against Kurdish unity, our nation in Syrian Kurdistan is happy with the latest developments.”
