Halbousi has turned Iraqi parliament into a hotbed of political strife: MP

<p style="text-align: left;">A member of the Al-Fatah Faction in the Iraqi parliament blamed the speaker of the parliament for closing the parliament and increasing political tensions in the country.

Mukhtar al-Musawi, a member of the Al-Fatah faction in the Iraqi parliament, told Al-Ma'loumeh news base that &ldquo;the parliaments of the countries other than Iraq continue to function naturally and are seeking the interests of the citizens. But this is not the case in Iraq and the one who has made this situation is the speaker of the parliament, Mohammad Halbousi, who has closed the highest legislative body in Iraq under the pretext of the coronavirus.&rdquo;

The al-Fatah Faction member stressed that important laws are awaiting approval in parliament, among them are the election and the Federal Supreme Court law, adding that the presidency is responsible for ignoring its responsibility in monitoring the role of the parliament and, thereby, turning it into a hotbed of political crisis.
