According to the website of the US State Department, James Jeffrey, the US Special Representative for the anti-IS Coalition and Syrian Affairs, told reporters that he condoled the killing of two Iraqi Kurdish army officers during Turkish airstrikes in the Kurdistan Region.
However, he called Turkey's attacks in the Kurdistan Region as legitimate and asked the country to continue its attacks on the PKK with the coordination of Iraq.
"Syrian oil belongs to the people of this country and the United States is committed to maintaining the integrity of the Syrian territory," The US special envoy for Syria said about the oil agreement between an American company and the Syrian Kurds, adding that the US government has done nothing but giving a license to a company and it has neither control over Syrian oil nor management of the country's natural resources.
He also expressed satisfaction with the situation in northeastern Syria and the US agreements with the Kurds, Turkey and Russia.
