Baghdad to allocate 320 billion dinars to KRG

<p style="text-align: left;">The Iraqi central government has allocated 350 billion Dinars to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to pay the salaries of its employees.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">The decision was made in a Saturday phone call between the Iraqi Prime Ministers Mustafa al-Kadhimi and the KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.<br /> The two PMs agreed in the telephone conversation on the allocation of 320 billion dinars by Baghdad to pay the salaries of the region's employees, with the aim of taking practical steps to resolve the differences between the two governments.<br /> According to the report the two sides agreed on a number of practical steps to resolve the issues and problems between Erbil and Baghdad, and in this context, it was decided to take into account the current economic situation in Iraq.<br /> In this telephone conversation, which took place on Saturday, August 15, some issues between the central government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government were discussed in detail, and they stressed on sticking with the Iraqi constitution to resolve disputes and problems between the two governments.<br /> Achieving any kind of agreement between Baghdad and Erbil must take into account the characteristics of the Kurdistan region and protect the interests of all Iraqis, the two sides underscored.<br /> Referring to the progress of the negotiations between them in order to reach a comprehensive agreement, al-Kadhimi and Barzani stressed on continuing the process until a final result is reached.<br /> Reporter's code: 50101</p>
