According to AFP, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a one-day visit to Iraq which is planned to be conducted on Wednesday.

According to the French news agency, Macron's short visit to Iraq is limited to his meeting with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad, and unlike other senior world officials, he will not travel to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, to meet with Kurdish leaders.

"Emmanuel Macron hopes that Iraqi Kurdish leaders will travel to Baghdad during his visit to meet with them in the Iraqi capital," AFP reported.

The Elysee Palace has not yet commented on Macron's visit to Iraq, the agency said. AFP reported Macron's visit to Iraq, quoting senior Iraqi officials.
