Sharaf Xan Cazizi, a spokesman for the Kurdish Language Association, who gave a press conference after the association's meeting on Saturday, said: "The small measures and reforms that have been taken in the Kurdish language and culture in recent years have no legal basis. . For this reason, Kurdish culture and language are attacked and ignored by various groups, especially racist and discriminatory movements. These actions and developments are creating tensions in the society and poisoning relations among people."
According to the Duvar newspaper, Caziri continued his remarks as saying: "As explicitly stated in international agreements, the right to language and identity is considered as one of the basic rights, and based on these rights, assimilation policies are in no way appropriate for the present age. The Kurdish Language Association is also working to identify these rights, culture and the Kurdish language. In this context, and based on international law and the agreements that Turkey has signed, we call for the establishment of a Kurdish language organization and the transformation of the Kurdish language as the language of education from primary school to university."
