According to Bloomberg, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed concern over Turkey's actions in the Mediterranean during his visit to Cyprus and meeting with the President of Cyprus.
"We are deeply concerned about Turkey's efforts to find natural resources in areas of the eastern Mediterranean that Cyprus and Greece consider their territory," Pompeo told Nikos Anastasiades.
The President of Cyprus, for his part, stressed his concern over Turkey actions and stated that any dispute over the Eastern Mediterranean should be resolved through dialogue, not arms diplomacy.
The dispute escalated in August following Turkey's efforts to find gas in the area, which also involved French intervention, Bloomberg wrote about Turkey's differences with Greece and Cyprus over natural resources such as gas and oil in the Eastern Mediterranean.
