Ilham Ahmed says it is very difficult to negotiate with Damascus

<p style="text-align:left">The chairman of the executive council of the Syrian Democratic Council described any negotiations with the government of Damascus as very difficult.

"So far, there have been many congresses and meetings on the Syrian crisis, including the Geneva meetings," said Ilham Ahmed, chairman of the executive council of the Syrian Democratic Assembly, referring to the negotiation process to resolve the Syrian crisis.
"Participants in these meetings have always been international actors, along with representatives of the central government and representatives of the Syrian opposition. Years have passed, but none of these meetings and negotiations have been fruitful," she further noted, adding that "the reason behind the failure of the talks is because the parties that attend these meetings and congresses are the countries and sides that have created and fueled the Syrian crisis and insisting on the removal of a part of the Syrian representatives (Kurds) cannot solve the Syrian crisis."
"So far, we have had many meetings and talks with the Syrian central government, but none of them have been fruitful," Ahmed was quoted as saying by Hawarnews.
She stressed that the reason for the ineffectiveness of the negotiations is the view of the Syrian central government on the crisis in this country as a temporary process.
The central government thinks that with time it will be able to overcome this crisis and the Syrian central government wants to return to the areas before 2011 era, Ms. Ahmed added.
The Kurdish official continued to say that negotiation with Damascus is very difficult but we are ready to discuss over all issues as we want to settle the crisis in the country.
