Number of US troops reducing in Erbil, Baghdad and al- Assad base

<p style="text-align:left">According to Hill magazine, the US military presence is dwindling, and its presence in Iraq is now limited to a number of locations, including al-Assad's base, Baghdad, and military installations in the Kurdistan Region.

A report by Hill, which is close to US Congress, stated that US forces in Iraq were being severely curtailed by handing over about eight military bases to Iraqi forces.
According to the report, US forces are now present in only a few places, including Baghdad, facilities in the Kurdistan Region and the al-Assad base, and this has reduced the overall US presence in Iraq.
Noting that US forces are more secure in the Kurdish region, the magazine said that the US presence in the region is likely to be concentrated.
Hill stressed the need for continued US military training of Iraqi forces and the Kurdistan Region to counter ISIS, but did not rule out the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq to fight ISIS, saying it was incapable of large-scale operations.
