Yildiz made the announcement during a meeting with Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji, NRT reported.
“Iraq's supreme interest requires that our relations be balanced with everyone and we hope that the current stage will witness increased security and stability in the region and the whole world,” al-Arahi said during the meeting according to his media office.
“Iraq and Turkey have shared interests and trade. Those relations should be developed to serve interests of both sides,” he added.
Yildiz said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan “attaches great importance to Turkish-Iraqi ties” and intends to visit Iraq in the future.
Relations have soured between Ankara and Baghdad in recent months because of the ongoing Turkish military campaign in the Kurdistan Region and northern Iraq.
The Iraqi foreign ministry has summed Yildiz on three separate occasions since June 15 to express its anger at the offensive, which Turkey says is necessary to combat the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
At least nine civilians and two Iraqi Border Guard Commanders have been killed in Turkish airstrikes, with several others wounded.
Kadhimi has visited most of Iraq’s other neighbors and Washington since coming to power, but has not yet visited Turkey.
Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani visited Ankara earlier this month.
