James Jeffrey promised Afrin and Sari Kani events won’t repeat again: party leader

<p style="text-align:left">A member of the Syrian Kurdish National Council (ENKS) said that the US envoy to Syria to Syria James Jeffery has promised the Kurds in Syria that Turkey attacks into the Kurdish cities of Afrin and Sari Kani would not repeat against the Washington would prevent such moves.

&ldquo;This is the first time the United States has promised the Syrian Kurds and it could be an important step for the political future of the Syrian Kurds," Shalal Gaddo told KurdPress in an interview.

Also the leader of the Syrian Kurdistan Democratic Left Party, Shalal Gaddo referred to the recent visit of James Jeffrey, the US envoy to Syria, to Syrian Kurdistan and his meetings with Kurdish parties and movements and stated that after meeting various movements; Jeffrey promised that the events which took place in Afrin, Sari Kani and Gri Spi would not be repeated.

He continued: "This is the first time that the United States has made such a promise to the Syrian Kurds and it can be an important step for the political future of the Syrian Kurds."

Mr. Gaddo added the US envoy believes that the Syrian Kurds will reach an agreement as soon as possible and that their unity is an important issue for the US.

He further said: "The parties have passed two important stages and are entering another critical stage to discuss regional governance, ideology, military and security issues."

The Syrian Kurdish official noted that the ENKS is moving towards a new world and civilization and believes in a military force under a political umbrella.

"The Roj Peshmerga are the children of this nation and there should be coordination between them and the Syrian Democratic Forces and they should be under one umbrella," he ultimately said.
