The documentary, Holy Bread, the latest work of the revered Rahim Zabihi, produced by Touraj Aslani and the MAAd Movie film company enters the competition section of the 13th International Documentary Film Festival (DMZ) in its latest and eighth international presence on behalf of Iranian cinema.
The festival is the most important Asian documentary film festival and the Kurdish documentary, which pictures the dangers Kurdish Kulbars face as they bring stuff into Iran from Iraq, will compete with works from several countries including Japan, the Philippines, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and India.
Kulbars are workers who transport heavy goods on foot across the Iranian border passing through rocky, steep and slippery mountainous pathways to make a living to support their families.
The international distribution of the Holy Bread documentary is Eli Image Company under the management of Elahe Nobakht.
DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (DMZ Docs) is a Korean film festival for documentaries, jointly presented by Paju and Goyang in Gyeonggi Province.
Launched in 2009, it is held annually for seven days in September/October less than twenty kilometers from the Korean Demilitarized Zone, and showcases films dealing with "peace, coexistence and reconciliation.
The 13th DMZ Docs will take place on 9th-16th September 2021. It is the largest festival of its kind in Asia, aiming to introduce outstanding documentaries as well as to support talented filmmakers and promising projects to be discovered by a wider audience.

Some 130 documentaries from 40 countries will be screened in Goyang, Megabox and Baekseok cinemas in the cities of Goyang and Guangzhou in South Korea.
