Canada warns Turkey against using Canadian equipment against Kurds

<p style="text-align: left;">Canada has threatened to suspend exports to Turkey if it reveals that Turkey has misused Canadian military equipment against the Kurds.

The Turkish military has made extensive use of military drones against the Kurds in its operations in Iraq and Syria. Turkey has used Canadian and British laser equipment in its drones and jets.

Last week, a pro-Syrian Kurdish group gathered in Burlington, Canada, in front of factories making military equipment, including military-used laser sensors, and accused Turkey of using Canadian military equipment against the Kurds in Syria.

In 2018 and 2019, Turkey carried out two major military operations against the Syrian Kurds, during which a large number of Syrian Kurds were killed or displaced.

The group supporting the disarmament project in Canada also claims that Turkey is using Canada's military and precise electronic equipment for various wars in the Middle East.

Canadian Foreign Minister Francisco Philippe Champagne told the Canadian Press that Canada would stop sending equipment to Ankara if investigations reveal that Turkey, a NATO member, had misused Canada's electronic equipment.
