New Turkey threat to attack Syrian Kurds is related to upcoming US elections: analyst

<p style="text-align: left;">Andrew Parasiliti believes that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's new threat against the Syrian Kurds is related to the US presidential elections in the next few days.

Erdogan has warned of a possible third attack on Syrian Kurds in the northeast.

Andrew Parasiliti, head of the Al-Monitor website and a Middle East analyst, believes Erdogan's threat is tied to the US presidential election, in which Erdogan&rsquo;s friend Donald Trump and Joe Biden are vying for a new US administration.

He recalled in his article that Erdogan had previously attacked the Kurds under the green light of current US President Donald Trump, and that the two have a direct and friendly relationship.

"Joe Biden may take a hard line on Erdogan and Turkey if he wins the election," Parasiliti wrote, referring to some of the criticisms leveled at Turkey by Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
