Russia is controlling Kurdistan Region oil industry - report

<p style="text-align: left;">Russia has taken control of the Kurdistan Region's oil and gas industry through Rosneft oil company and is now seeking to extend it to southern Iraq, Oil Price reported.

The oil and gas magazine Oil Price said the Russian government is attempting to expand its control over Iraq's energy resources.

According to the journal, Russia has already taken control of the Kurdistan Region's oil and gas industry through the state-owned Rosneft Company, and is now trying to take over the large Al-Mansouria gas field in Iraq after the expiration of the Turkish company's contract and take the control of the important gas source as well.

The journal believes that Russia has already taken control of the oil and gas industry in the Kurdistan Region, as the country has achieved this goal through the end of 2017 by the Rosneft oil company in three ways.

According to Oil Price, the company has provided $ 1.5 billion in cash to the KRG to repay it through oil sales over the next three to five years. The company also owns 80% of the shares of 5 major oil fields in the Kurdistan region.

Oil Price cites another $ 1.8 billion investments by Rosneft in the Kurdistan Region oil pipeline, and writes that with the development of this pipeline, the company will increase its daily oil transfer capacity to one million barrels, and in return will own 60% of the pipeline.
