One more Kurdistan Region weapons depot explodes

<p style="text-align:left">An explosion occurred on Sunday night, August 5, at a warehouse where weapons and ammunition were being stored west of Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan Region.

This incident is the latest in a series of ammunition dumps that have exploded in the region.
The weapons storage is located near the village of Kani Qirzhala, ten kilometers west of Erbil, on the road to Mosul.
Local sources told NRT that the warehouse belongs to the Peshmerga Ministry and that the explosion resulted in a power blackout in the area.
On July 1, a large explosion rocked a weapons depot where gunpowder was being stored in theBahirka district in Erbil province.
The next day, a fire broke out at an ammunition warehouse near Sulaimani city.
In August 2017, an explosion rocked an ammunition depot and weapons storage belonging to Zirvani's forces and a fire broke out in August 2016 at another arms depot near Erbil airport.
