Turkish warplanes conducted strikes against targets in the Kurdistan Region’s Amedi district on Saturday, Esta’s Media Network reported.

Turkish fighter jets “intensely” bombed the villages of Zewka and Gali Sherana in Baregare in Amedi district, northeast of Duhok, according to the report.

Turkey has taken its decades-old conflict with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) deep into the Kurdistan Region, establishing military bases and deploying armed military drones against the fighters in their mountain strongholds.
