Demirtas applauds Kilicdaroglu's call against discrimination

Selahattin Demirtas, the imprisoned former Co-Chair of the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), voiced his support for opposition’s joint presidential candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu's message of unity and inclusivity towards Alevi citizens of Turkey.

In a message released from his prison cell, Demirtas applauded Kilicdaroglu's video message in which he called for an end to discrimination against Alevis and emphasized the importance of respecting their religious beliefs.

Demirtas stated, "Everyone should watch this message with an open heart and feel it deeply. It is possible to live together peacefully, brotherly, and equally without discrimination in these lands."

He continued: "I congratulate Mr. Kilicdaroglu and wholeheartedly support his beautiful message."

The message of Kilicdaroglu has received positive feedback from various groups across the country. In the video, he emphasized that all citizens of Turkey, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or cultural background, should have equal rights and opportunities.
