Iraqi government to send 200 billion Dinars to Kurdistan Region

The spokesman of the Iraqi government announced an order had been issued over sending 400 billion dinars to the Kurdistan Region, but half of the amount will be sent to the autonomous region.

According to Sharp Press, Iraqi government spokesman Bassem Awadi said: "At the Iraqi government meeting on Tuesday, an order was issued to send 400 billion dinars to the Kurdistan region, but as the budget has not been ratified and due to decrease in cash amount, half of this amount, 200 billion dinars, will be sent in the next few days."
Meanwhile Baghdad was supposed to send 400 billion Dinars to the Kurdistan region until the Iraqi budget law is ratified. Now there are some in Baghdad who want to reduce the share of the Kurdistan region from the total budget of Iraq.
Chia Timu, a representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in the Iraqi parliament, stated: "Currently, an atmosphere has been created where anyone who speaks against the regional government will get more votes in the elections, that's why they make protests, otherwise they themselves know very well that how much the region's share is, as it is even less than our real right. we are waiting for those who want to cancel the agreement concluded between Erbil and Baghdad."
According to a letter of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, the population of the Kurdistan Region constitutes 14% of the total population of Iraq, but the region's share of the budget has been set at 12.67%, therefore, any manipulation in the percentage of the region's share will cause Kurdish representatives to protest strongly.
