Muqtada al-Sadr, Masoud Barzani discuss forming next Iraqi government

Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadr faction, and Masoud Barzani, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), stressed in a telephone conversation on the need for serious talks on future coalitions aimed at securing the interests of the country and the Iraqi people.

According to Shafaq News, Muqtada al-Sadr's office issued a statement saying that the two sides discussed the need to interact with each other in the interests of the country and the Iraqi people as the country is going to form the next government.

According to the statement, Barzani and Sadr stressed on the importance of holding serious talks on forming future coalitions to ensure the interests of Iraq and its people, so that the nation can achieve respect, dignity and a dignified life.

It is worth mentioning that in the past few days, a large number of Shiite and Sunni political delegations have traveled to Erbil to talk with the leaders of Kurdish parties in the Kurdistan Region, including the KDP Leader Masoud Barzani, about the mechanism for forming the next Iraqi cabinet.
