Nihad Mohammed, a spokesperson from Diyala police, said three Iraqi soldiers also were injured in the attack and three ISIS militants were killed.

He also said a military operation against ISIS in the area was underway.

On Monday, ISIS militants attacked police in the Salahadin governorate where three members of police were killed and four others wounded.
