Iraqi politician welcomes Masoud Barzani's proposal for a meeting between Iraqi leading officials

A prominent Iraqi politician considered the proposal of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader for a meeting among the Kurdistan Region president and the speaker of the Iraqi parliament and the leader of the Sadr faction to discuss the removal of obstacles in the Iraqi political process as a right step.

According to Kurdistan 24 TV, a meeting was held in Najaf on Monday, January 31, at the suggestion of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Leader, Masoud Barzani, among Muqtada al-Sadr, Nachirvan Barzani (also the deputy leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party) and Mohammad al-Halbousi, the speaker of the Iraqi parliament (leader of Taqadum Coalition).

Ezzat Shabandar, a prominent and independent Iraqi politician, welcomed the plan and said the Barzani's proposal is a fundamental step in the right political process in Iraq and will be welcomed by the people and movements of the country.

He stressed that the main victims of this plan and suggestion are the political problems of the country.

He also said that the coalition under his leadership emphasizes adherence to national options.
